WHAT TO EXPECT
Going to a new church can feel intimidating. We hope to change that!
Christ UMC is a dynamic congregation filled with people from all walks of life. From t-shirts and jeans to business suits, you'll see it all on Sunday mornings. We yearn to be a place and a people where you are welcomed and treated like family from the moment you arrive.
When should I arrive?
Plan to arrive about 15 minutes before the worship service starts to allow plenty of time to make your way to the worship space. Enter the church through our Welcome Center where you can grab a coffee or tea before worship begins. Not sure how to get there? No worries! Our parking team members will help you on our way. Ushers will be available at each service to greet you and help you find a seat.
Where do I park?
We have a very large parking lot at Christ UMC that begins in front of the sanctuary and wraps around the church building. Our parking team members in yellow vests are available to assist you with parking in the most convenient space available. They also have a golf cart to take you to your worship space, and can answer any questions you may have.
What should I wear?
Come as you are--we mean it! Our congregation includes a wide range of ages and backgrounds. You will see people in the Sanctuary and gym in all styles from jeans to business casual attire. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so please don’t worry about what to wear.
Can I participate in all parts of worship?
Yes! Each week we join our hearts in prayer, lift our voices in song, and share our tithes and offerings in all three services. On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion, and all are welcome to share in this holy meal together. We encourage you to participate to the extent that you feel comfortable.
What about children?
We have a nursery for infants and toddlers or they can sit with you in the service. A cry room is available at the back of the sanctuary. On the 2nd-5th Sundays each month, we have a time in worship called “Credo Kids.” This is where we share in a kid-sized version of the message. Following Credo Kids, children up to second grade are invited to attend children’s church, where they learn more about what it means to walk in faith.
Can I attend Sunday School?
Of course! Our Sunday School meets at 10am. We offer classes for every age group in our congregation, from children and youth to various adult classes that meet every Sunday. Please attend the class that best meets what you’re looking for.
