Young people aren't the future of the Church. They are the church!
At Christ UMC, we believe that youth are a vital part of our congregation. From worship to Bible studies to retreats and mission trips, we seek to provide a space for 6th-12th graders to ask honest questions and grow in their faith together. Our youth programs are open to the entire community, and you are invited to join us for a time of faith and fellowship each week! To learn more, contact .
Youth Alive - Sundays at 5:30pm
Join us on Sunday nights for dinner, games, and Bible study! We meet in the gym at 5:30pm and share in a time of fellowship with games and a meal provided by our church. We then spend some time studying Scripture and learning more about God's love. Some Sunday nights include special programs, such as volunteer work in our community or a family night bonfire! All are welcome, and we hope to see you there.
Youth Connection - Wednesdays at 6:30pm
Following our Wednesday night meal in the gym, we meet for a time of study to deepen our faith. We'll conclude with a time of fellowship. Bring a friend, all are welcome!
Sunday School - Sundays at 10am
We offer two classes to grow in our faith each week between worship services at our church. Join us in the middle school and high school Sunday school classes as our adult mentors help us dive deeper into our faith journey.
Each year we offer a Confirmation program for our youth to enable them to affirm their faith. In Confirmation, youth are paired with adult mentors to explore different topics of the Christian faith and ask questions as they explore more deeply what it means to follow Jesus Christ.
Retreats, Missions, & More!
Throughout the year we have a number of opportunities to grow in our faith outside of church. Each January we participate in Resurrection, an annual event of worship and spiritual growth with youth from across East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Northeast Georgia held in Pigeon Forge. Each summer go on a mission trip where we volunteer and learn more about a community outside of Knoxville. And there are many events where we serve others right here in our Knoxville community all year long.
